ReNewport Launches Mini-Grant Program to Move Forward on ReNewport Quality of Life Plan
ReNewport announced the establishment of the ReNewport Mini-Grant program to jump start the process of implementation of the Quality of Life Plan and fund community engagement for the plan into the future. ReNewport’s leadership recognizes the crucial role that volunteers and residents of Newport played in the process of creating the Quality of Life Plan. In furtherance of building on the momentum of the Quality of Life Planning process, ReNewport wishes to engage the residents and groups wishing to advance its goals by offering financial support for those willing to take on projects and objectives within the plan. In addition, the program allows ReNewport to include new ideas centered on improving the quality of life of Newport’s residents and businesses as conditions change going forward.
Competitive mini-grants of up to $500.00 may be awarded for qualifying projects or activities. In order to promote greater cooperation between resident-based groups from separate neighborhoods to work together on joint projects, two or more resident-based groups (i.e.: neighborhood associations, issue centered groups, and so forth) which work together on a single project may submit one grant application and request a maximum of $750.00 per each group involved for that joint project.
